We are pleased to welcome Alexandra’s Africa to the Waterside Network Group. Alexandra’s Africa is a local niche safari company offering accompanied, authentic and immersive small-group safari experiences to adult travellers to Southern Africa. At the helm is Alexandra who was raised and educated in South Africa, has a degree in Zoology and worked in conservation in Nambia before returning to the UK.

Alexandra has lived and travelled extensively in southern Africa over the last 20 years, drawn and born to explore the vast game reserves particularly of the drier northern regions of South Africa, areas that Alexandra tells us are very much ‘off the beaten track’ and unspoiled by mass tourism. 

It was in 2012 that Alexandra, noticing a gap in the market for accompanied safaris for adults keen to enjoy and experience not just the unique and spectacular wildlife, but also to enjoy the majestic scenery, varied cultures, and history (the traders, the settlers, the early explorers and conservationists) of the region that make it so fascinating and unique – in an accompanied, personalised, small-group setting. 

Alexandra has a certificate in Sustainable Tourism and protecting the environment and ensuring host communities benefit from the tourism she bring to the areas on her safari routes are high on the agenda. A quick look at her website supports this!
