About Us

What is the Waterside Network Group?

An initiative by local small businesses - to provide an opportunity to share ideas and get yourself better known within the local and wider community. It's all about small businesses supporting one another to generate new business.

Where is the Waterside, Hampshire?

We define the area as being Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Langley, Blackfield, Holbury and adjacent areas.

How does it work?

We meet weekly at a local venue and start each session with a breakfast roll and cup of coffee. Every week each member is given the opportunity to remind the group what it is they do and what kind of business they are currently looking for.

One member per week will get an extended slot of about 5 mintues to share more detail about what they do. This isn't about selling to group members, but educating them, so should they encounter a potential opportunity for you they can refer you to it.

Business Leads

Most small business owners will tell you that the best means of advertising is word of mouth. This is why some of us are able to continue to grow our businesses, irrespective of the financial climate.

People buy from people who they know, like and trust.

At the Waterside Network Group we learn about one another's businesses and get to know each other as individuals, so putting us in the position to confidently recommend one another, make referrals, and generate warm leads.

The benefit of a warm lead is that you already know the potential customer has a need for your business, or even better, is expecting you to call. All leads are recorded at the meetings so we can track the effectiveness of the group. It's quick and easy to do and the resulting benefits are well worth the effort.

Once you've attended a sample session we'll ask you if you would like to commit for the coming year. You'll be asked for a small fee to aid the running of the group. We are a "not for profit" group

Who can join?

The group is only open to one representative per industry, so, for example, if a florist applied to join and we do not already have a florist as a member then the new application would be accepted.

This way, by committing to join you ensure that you alone are getting the leads for your business in that particular sector.

Each weekly meeting lasts for 60-90 minutes and includes refreshments. We follow a structure to make sure meetings don't over-run and are productive and beneficial for all.
